Coretta Scott King Author Book Award Winners

About This Award

This award was designed "to commemorate and foster the life, works and dreams" of

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and to honor his wife Coretta Scott King "for her courage and determination to continue his work for peace and world brotherhood."  Each year the award is given to an African American author who has published a book that will be an outstanding, inspirational, and educational contribution to children's literature.
