Sibert Award Medal

The Robert F. Sibert Informational Book Medal is given annually to the author(s) and illustrator(s) of the most distinguished informational children’s book published in English during the preceding year.  Established in 2001 by the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) with support from Bound to Stay Bound Books, the award is named in honor of Sibert, the long-time president of Bound to Stay Bound Books, Inc. of Jacksonville, Illinois.  ALSC administers the award.  Honor books for this award may be found on the American Library Association’s website under Grants & Awards:
