A Note About Finding Books

When searching the online catalog keep the following in mind:

  • To search for books about an artist, do a subject search. Type the last name first.

EXAMPLE: Van Gogh, Vincent

  • To find exhibition catalogs or compilations, do an author search. Type the last name first.

EXAMPLE: Rubens, Paul

  • To search for periods of art or types of art, do a subject search for the name of the period of art or types of art.

EXAMPLE: Impressionism 

Most books on art and related topics will be located on the fourth floor in call numbers starting with N.

Reference Sources

Many of the reference resources are now  located on the fourth floor of the UALR Ottenheimer Library.  They cannot be checked out, but you are welcome to make photocopies of the pages that you need. You also have the option of scanning pages and sending them to your email account as a PDF file by using the copiers on the first floor.
