A Note About Finding Books in Ottenheimer Library

Because social welfare policies encompass many issues and sub-fields, materials can be found under several Library of Congress (LC) Subject Headings. When searching the UALR Ottenheimer Library online catalog, possible LC Subject Headings include the following:

  • Poverty
  • Child Welfare
  • Mental Health
  • Social Security
  • Aging
  • Criminal Justice
  • Corrections

Many of these broad headings can be subdivided geographically to limit the number of results:

Helpful hint when searching Ottenheimer Library's catalog from home:

If you are searching from off campus, you can also request that circulating materials be pulled for you and held at the Circulation Desk.
