The online catalog allows you to quickly and easily search for books, as well as other materials, that the UALR Ottenheimer Library owns.

A few tips for searching:

• Ottenheimer Library uses the Library of Congress classification system. The call numbers will start with letters and include numbers and additional letters and numbers. Some can be quite long.
• Remember that people must be searched as subjects, using the last name first.
• Search for the name of a location as both a subject and a keyword.

A few tips for locating materials:

• The catalog record will tell you which floor the item is shelved on.
• Be sure to copy the entire call number for each item. It will be necessary to locate the specific book or multimedia piece you want.
• Check the far right column and be sure it says "Available." If it has a due date, another person already has the item checked out. You can place a request on the item to be notified when it is returned.

In addition to writing down the location and call number, remember to check the "Status" column before you go to the shelf to pull the item. Sometimes books are not on the shelf because they are checked out or recently returned.

If you cannot find a book you are looking for, please ask for assistance at the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the library.

If you are searching from off-campus, you can also request that circulating materials be pulled for you and held at the Circulation Desk. Select the Request option and fill in the necessary information. Please allow at least 24 hours for the materials to be pulled. You will receive an email when your items are ready for check out.
