Finding United States Publications

Country Studies are written to assist members of the US military while they are deployed overseas. Most nations are represented if the United States has diplomatic/military ties with the country.

The more recent versions of some nations are also on the Web through the Library of Congress Web page, listed below.

The U.S. Department of State also offers information on foreign countries through their Web page Background Information on Countries of the World.

Finding European Union Publications

EU Bookshop This link opens in a new window
An online bookshop, library and archive of publications dating back to 1952. It contains electronic versions of PDF files and e-books in more than 50 languages, including the 24 official languages of the EU. The majority of titles are authored by EU institutions.

UALR's Ottenheimer Library is the only European Union depository in the State of Arkansas.

This unique status allows the library to receive one copy of most EU publications. The official publications contain information ranging from policy developments in all sectors of EU activity to statistics on trade, demographics, agriculture, transportation, energy, and economic indicators. The materials published by the EU are in the catalog and will be located on the 4th and 5th floors.
